Butricks



These are pocket mirrors. I have them here, the man on the left is my father Dearl Edwin Butrick, to his right is Cecil Butrick, and below is Mary Orabelle Butrick. she is my grand mother.

Butrick Chair



This is a photo of a chair removed from the Butrick cabin. Enos cabin. The man holding the chair is Gary Butrick. He has had the chair handed down to him, and it is a point of pride. Gary is a decentent of Enos Butrick. Garys grandfather, and my grandfather were twins. John Wesley, Walter Edwin.

Wyllis Buttrick



This photo is off of a tin type. Wyllis is the brother of Enos. Wyllis was born Feb 24, 1809 Son of Joseph and Elizabeth Maran Buttrick. Wyllis served in the Union Army during the Civil war. He passed March 1890.

Cecil Butrick



This is the flag that was draped across Cecil. It was givin to my father, and he gave it to me. This photo was taken in my home. The flag has 45 stars on it.

Cecil Butrick



Cecil and my father during there youth. Broke horses around the western part of Iowa and worked as farmers. This is a photo taken off the internet of Cecil.

Cecil C Butrick




This is a photo of Cecil C Butrick, My Uncle. He was the youngest of my fathers family. He served in the 325th Infantry. 82nd Division A E F A company. He served during WW 1 I now have the flag draped over him after he passed. I knew him as a child. I respected him, He was a kind hearted man. My father often spoke of him, He was well liked in life.

Enos Butrick Cabin,



This is a photo of Enos Butrick cabin along the Coon River in Carroll CO Iowa. It is still mostly there, and a walk through landowners fields. Just down from Salabury Cemetary.

Maj. John Buttrick



This is a card bought off E Bay and letting the world know about Maj John Buttrick. He was at the old North Bridge, and after the British fired there first volley, Killing all in the front row, Maj John Buttrick took charge and ordered the firing of the shot heard around the world. This was the first action of the United States Army, and the first call for Freedom. Maj John Buttrick is the most popular of our lines of Butricks. April 19, 1775.

This is the newspaper report of the town of Benan Iowa, Founder near the cabin of Enos Butrick. The town is gone now, But they are honoring its founder. This is the first town in western Iowa.

Enos Butrick



This is a photo of Enos Butrick. He was born in 1812 Passed in 1883. Wife Catherine Ann de Lavergne Butrick. She was born in Jan 1816 passed in March 1864 Enos married Sarah Brown de Lavergne. Enos was a true pioneer as records indicate he was the first living white man to settle in Western Iowa. His exploits can be followed in a book titled. " Buffalo Trails Plowed Under" A history of Carroll Co Iowa.

Suzan Ellin



This is the oldest information I have, It is a manifest for the Suzan Ellin a ship leaving England to the new world. A list of passengers for this ship. William Buttrick is on board. He was the first Butrick to enter the new world. I have found the next to come over was around 1930s. So All Buttrick, Butricks are of his decent. William was 18 years of age. There is a book, " Butrick, Butterick, Buttrick In the USA 1635-1978" This book is very hard to get ahold of. It was published by Richard P Butrick. Copyright 1979. 400 copies. This book will explain the decentdents of the Buttrick, Butrick lines. All I add to this blog, or most will be from this book.
